Kanalgaden is a cohousing for seniors located in central Albertslund. The building is close to the station, library, town hall and shopping center, and the canal runs on both sides of the building.
The construction in the three lower floors is a transformation of an existing office building, and upstairs is built in varying heights up to 4 floors. The main structure and parts of the facades, which are in concrete, are recycled and formed.
The housing development contains 90 homes, ranging from 41-96 m2. Common areas with kitchen and space for physical exercise as well as courtyards and roof gardens with orangery create nice meeting places in the building.
