Near the Helsinki Vantaa airport is situated in a forest hollow and features a large logistics warehouse, a cross-docking terminal, and a domicile headquarter. Arriving by an inclination the office dominates the apparent view before it reveals the large scale facilities that lie behind.
The architecture of the headquarter follows the DSV design standard developed by ak83 arkitekter, with clean lines and a white façade that fits with the Nordic nature.
Both the logistics warehouse and the cross-docking terminal are distinguished by being the DSV project with the loadbearing structure fabricated mainly in timber. The roof of the logistics warehouse is constructed from prefabricated wood elements while the cross-docking terminal features thick glue-laminated wood trusses giving the interior an organic and rhythmic expression.
